二枚舌論者の独り言
Soliloquy of a Two-Face Advocate
Basic Summary/Context:
An oni with the power to control the concept of 無 (‘nothingness’) explains how they think and why they think there’s nothing wrong with being two-faced and ‘saying whatever is convenient.’
Kyomu to hikikae ni shin’nen no nai jibun o moteasobunda
akui naki uso de nuritsubushita sekai wa kokkeide itooshī
shina no nai nekko o kakushite kokoro no sukima o sagasu no sa
ni-mai no shita ga sa katte ni jare au nodakara mujitsudesho?
As an exchange for nothingness
I toyed with my faithless, convictionless self
This world, painted with lies bearing no ill intent
Is comedically lovely
I’d say the heart is searching for the gaps
in it’s unrefined foundation
You know, the two sided tongue is just messing around arbitrarily
It’s no crime[1] , isn’t it?
Kono sora no shita de teisai bakari o migaku ozomashī ikikata yori wa mashidaro?
Otagaisama zan’nenda ne
ano kumo no shita de mizukakeron-sha [3 ] ga nageku kibaru na yo
kimama ni miorosu kata ga kimochīikara zan’nenda ne
Under this sky [emptiness], [2]
It’s preferable to living a repulsive life
Doing nothing but polishing outward appearances
right?
We’re in the same boat
It’s a shame, isn’t it?
Under those clouds[4]
Those who argue fruitlessly, they lament
Don’t wear yourself out
Because it feels better to condescend
and live as you like
It’s a shame, isn’t it?
Lyric Notes
[1] Hard to translate. Need to put the ‘insubstantial’ part first because Sunyata purposes but there’s a ‘actions echo to infinity -> guiltless’ vibe here
[2] Sky is the poetic way to refer to ’emptiness’ from the buddhist point of view
[3] literally “people debating over where the water will go in a drought”
