The smell of a melancholy morning
The blaze of a dimming candle
These burning feelings are a playhouse
God?
He’s just a donkey’s ear hole
Saying “Mahal ko Mahal kita[5] ” (I love you) to someone
Is the teasing of the faeries
A Happy End is a 8 lettered excuse
God?
Today too, I will Escape

“I love you!”
[1] This means “To spell” but also “To stitch together/piece together”
[2] This is a pun; Ohime-sama means “Princess” but “himegoto” colloquially means “secret”, but also could mean “hime goto”, which means “things princesses do”
[3] https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%9C%88%E9%BD%A2
Basically 14-15 would be a full moon, so it’s close
[4] Tsuki sounds a bit like “Tsugi”, which means “next”
[5] Tagalog for “I love you” (twice)
Interestingly, either Mahal ko or Mahal Kita would mean “I love you”, (though the latter is more personal)
[6] This can be singular or it can be plural, and the double meaning is certainly intentional.
[7] https://psychology.fandom.com/wiki/Pre-established_harmony
[8] 予定調和 – yoteichouwa means as usual or as is ordained, but it is the name of the book/psychological idea of the same name.
[9] If they weren’t going for it they would say “予定通り” (yoteidoori), or ‘as planned’
I am caught between translating this literally or figuratively, literally it is “I don’t need this!” but figuratively this phrase is used to say “What am I supposed to do with this?” with that sort of intonation
